National EMS Memorial
In May of 1998 by order Senate and House of Representatives resolutions S. Con. 55 and H Com. Res 171, respectively, the National EMS Memorial in Roanoke, Virginia was officailly recognized as the official EMS Memorial of the United States.
The mission of the National EMS Memorial Service is to honor and remember those men and women of America's Emergency Medical Services who have given their lives in the line of duty, and to recognize the sacrifice they have made in service to their communities and their fellow man.
Each year, hundreds of family members, friends, coworkers, EMS and political leaders, and colleagues from EMS agencies from around the nation gather together to remember our honorees.
The National EMS Memorial is not a single event but rather a weekend of events centered around the ceremony known as the National EMS Memorial Service.
The names of all "line of duty deaths" are listed in the Roanoke, Virginia National Memorial.
There you will find the names of Wisconsin EMS providers who lost their lives in the line of duty as did many others throughout the United States.
Thank you for your unselfish dedication to EMS, and may the memory of your service live on forever.
